They say rain is good luck, and Caroline and Shawn couldn't agree more. Their first date was at Pusser's Caribbean Grille on a very rainy day in Annapolis, MD. Shawn came prepared with an umbrella and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The two spent that first afternoon bonding over faith, family, and their shared love of music (both playing and listening), with it having quickly become clear to both that this was the start of something special. Since their first date, they've discovered they have many more shared interests including traveling, biking, dogs, arcade/boardgames, and concerts/shows, to name a few. On April 9, 2023, Shawn proposed during Caroline’s family’s annual Easter egg hunt. Having secretly saved the final Easter egg in his pocket, he waited until Caroline’s nieces and nephews had found their eggs before surprising her with the true golden egg that contained a ring. Shawn then knelt down on one knee to propose, and the rest is history. Caroline and Shawn are looking forward to celebrating their marriage at St. Mary's Parish with the reception to follow at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel (the same location as their first date!) and can't wait to celebrate with each one of you! :-)
